Día 1 en Sri Lanka. ¡Nos encantó este país!

Es una mezcla entre India y Tailandia. No tanta pobreza como en la India pero sí se nota que es un país aún en vía de desarrollo y a la vez el 70% de la población es budista, por lo que hay mil templos preciosos para visitar, y el resto son cristianos.

Aunque hay muchas ciudades y zonas visitar, os recomiendo alojaros en la zona sur del país. Es donde están las mejores playas y los surfers. En la zona Este que es donde nos alojamos nosotras las playas son un poco peores (aún así preciosas como veis en las fotos) y está un poco apartado de todo, pero también hay localizaciones a visitar cerca. Nos alojamos en el Hotel de la misma cadena que en Maldivas, Sun Aqua Pasikudah.

Respecto al tema del transporte. Hay varios aeropuertos pero el principal es Colombo, situado en la capital del país. Desde ahí lo mejor es alquilar un coche (un conductor) que os lleve a todas partes todos los días que vayáis a estar allí. Nosotras pagamos a nuestro conductor unos 50-70€ por día. Para comer igual, podéis ir parando en sitios típicos que veáis por las mini ciudades o pueblos y es bastante barato, por 10€ al día se puede comer. El tema de los datos y wifi… bastante mal. Tuvimos problemas incluso dentro del hotel para poder conectarnos y trabajar bien, pero en realidad estos viajes son para disfrutarlos y desconectar, descubrir el país, conocer a esta maravillosa gente… así que no viene mal de vez en cuando viajar sin datos. Yo al menos iba mucho más relajada y conseguí realmente disfrutar del viaje.

Estas fotos son en la preciosa piscina del hotel en frente del mar y mi mejor momento eran las “peligrosas” siestas que me echaba en esta hamaca… y digo peligrosas porque me caí varias veces antes de poder hacer estas fotos hahaha. Yo como siempre haciendo mis típicas “monerías”.

Day 1 in Sri Lanka. We loved this country!

It is a mix between India and Thailand. Not as much poverty as in India, but it is a country still developing and at the same time 70% of the population is Buddhist, so there are a thousand precious temples to visit, and the rest are catholics.

Although there are many cities and areas to visit, I recommend you to stay in the South as you will be closest to everything. It is where the best beaches and surfers are. In the East area that is where we stayed the beaches are a bit worse (still beautiful as you can see in the pictures) and it is a bit far away but there are also places to visit nearby. We stayed at the same hotel chain as in the Maldives, Sun Aqua Pasikudah.

About the transport. There are some airports but the main one is Colombo, located in the capital of the country. From there the best thing to do is to rent a car (a driver) that will take you everywhere around all the days that you are going to be visiting the country. We payed our driver about 50-70€ per day. To eat happens something similar, you can stop at any typical places that you see in the small cities or towns and it is quite cheap, for €10 per day you can eat. About the data and wifi… pretty bad. We had problems even inside the hotel to connect and work well, but in fact these trips are to really enjoy and disconnect, discover the country, meet these wonderful people… so it does not hurt anybody from time to time to travel without data. I was at least much more relaxed to me and I really enjoyed the trip.

These photos are in the hotel’s beautiful pool in front of the sea and my best moment was the “dangerous” naps I had in this lovely hammock… and I say dangerous because I fell down several times before I could do these photos hahaha. Me always doing my typical “monkey things”.

Una de las cosas más representativas de Los Ángeles donde todos los turistas acuden a hacerse fotos son sus calles y paredes llenas de arte callejero.

Siempre me ha parecido increíble cómo se pueden dibujar este tipo de graffitis con un simple spry y sin tener debajo un boceto ni nada. Simplemente a mano alzada. Esto sí que es arte.

La calle más conocida donde encontrar estas paredes y muros es Melrose Avenue. El muro rosa de Paul Smith, las míticas alas, la frase “Made in LA”… Además también es una de mis calles favoritas porque aparte de encontrarse las marcas más conocidas de lujo también tiene pequeñas marcas locales donde se pueden encontrar piezas vintage tanto de ropa como de decoración, me encanta.

Y la frase de esta pared tiene miga… “De la suciedad una flor debe crecer”. Evidentemente cada uno puede interpretarlo como quiera, sólo el autor sabe el verdadero motivo. Yo lo interpreto como que siempre que nos pasa algo en la vida, sea bueno o malo, es por algo. De lo bueno nos quedaremos con el recuerdo para siempre. De lo malo aprenderemos e intentaremos no cometer los mismos errores. Pero de lo que estoy segura es de que hasta en las cosas más “feas” o en las personas más “malas” siempre hay una parte bonita, bella, positiva; aunque a veces cueste encontrarla.

El tiempo aquí sigue un poco loco… como todos. Tenemos días de calor con días de más frío, pero en esta ocasión brilló un sol radiante todo el día por lo que aproveché para ponerme una falda corta vaquera con camiseta de rayas y cazadora de cuero por encima. Aún no me atrevo a salir sin medias por el blanquecino color de mi piel por lo tanto escogí mis medias de rejilla y el toque de color vino con mi bolso rojo con detalles en plata, uno de mis favoritos de color.

Mi primer día de reuniones ha ido genial así que estoy muy contenta y me voy a la cama muy satisfecha. Además he tenido la gran suerte de poder conocer a una de mis actrices favoritas en persona,Kelly Rutherford, mujer elegante donde las haya y poder charlar con ella un rato. Encantadora y aún más guapa en persona.

One of the most representative things in Los Angeles where all the tourists go to take pictures are its streets and walls full of street art.

It has always seemed incredible to me how can anyone draw this kind of graffitis with a simple spry and without any sketch or a draw under. Just freehand. This is real art.

The most well known street to find these walls and paints is Melrose Avenue. The pink wall from Paul Smith brand, the worldwide known wings, the quote “Made in LA” and so… Furthermore it is also one of my favorite streets because apart from finding the best luxury brands it also has small local brands and stores where you can find vintage pieces for both, clothes and decoration, I love it.

And the quote on this wall says it all… “From the dirt a flower must grow”. Obviously everyone can interpret it as they want, only the author knows the real reason and meaning. I interpret it like whenever something happens to us in our life, whether good or bad, it is for something. Everything happens for a reason, you know. Good things will stay in our memory forever. From bad things we will learn and we will try to not make the same mistakes again. But what I’m pretty sure of is that even the most “ugly” things or the “bad” people have always a beautiful side, a positive part; although sometimes it is really difficult to find…

The weather here is still a bit crazy… like all of us lol. We have hot days with colder days, but this day sun shined bright all day so I took advantage of it and I wore a short black denim skirt with a striped t-shirt on top and my new leather jacket with patches over. I still do not want to show my whitish legs so I was wearing my squared tights and the touch of color came with my red bag with details in silver, my favourite one in this color.

My first day of meetings has gone great so I am very happy and I go to bed very satisfied. Besides, I’ve been lucky enough to meet one of my favourite actresses in person, Kelly Rutherford, an elegant woman that I have had the opportunity to catch up with. Charming and even more beautiful in person.

Comienzo nueva semana aunque la verdad es que no se si lo hago con mucha fuerza o no… porque he trabajado como sabréis tanto el Sábado como el Domingo y sólo de pensar en todo lo que me queda por hacer estos días en Madrid antes de irme a Nueva York el Jueves… ¡me mareo! hahaha.

Hoy os enseño otro look de los que más me pedís que es para ir a trabajar. Las tiendas están llenas este año de vestidos de colores básicos y con cortes sencillos como este de canalé negro que llevo yo hoy. Seguro que todas tenemos un LBD (Little Black Dress) que nos lo podemos poner con un mocasín o bailarinas y vamos tan monas a la ofi. Como no voy a poder llevarme estar chaquetitas de lana a mi viaje ya que allí hace aún mucho más frío que aquí, he aprovechado estos días para ponérmelas. Esta de estampado y estilo étnico sabéis que es mi favorita por el toque burdeos que tiene que me permite jugar con accesorios en los mismos tonos, en este caso el pañuelo y el bolso. Las slippers son las que me compré en mi último viaje a NY y son de ante con forma de gatito, me gustan porque son muy originales y en accesorios siempre busco destacar justo en eso, en diseño diferente.

I start a new week although I really do not know if I do it with too much energy or not… because as you would know I worked the whole weekend, Saturday and Sunday, and if I just stop and think about all that I have to do these days in Madrid before going to New York on Thursday… I’m scared! hahaha.

Today I show you another look that you use to ask me about, is to go to work. The shops are full this year with basic dresses and simple designs like this one that I’m wearing today. I’m sure that you all have a LBD (Little Black Dress) that you can wear with blucher or flats and you will get a cute outfit to go to your office. As I will not be able to bring with me my wool cardigans to my coming trip because there is even colder than here, I’ve decided these days to wear them. This ethnic style one is my favourite because of the burgundy that allows me to play with accessories in the same colors, in this case the scarf and my fav bag. The slippers are what I bought on my last trip to NY and are with a kitty face, I like them because they are very original and when talking about accessories I always try to wear different design to highlight my outfit.

BCN Meet Up 2015

Por fin os puedo contar más cositas y enseñaros los dos looks que me puse para disfrutar del BCN Meet Up de este año donde nos reunimos varias marcas y bloggers importantes de nuestro país.

Entre ellas destacar a mis chicas de Trendy Taste, Mes Voyages a Paris, Hola Cuore, Necklace of Pearls, Erea Louro, A Trendy Life o Bartabac. ¡Qué bien nos lo pasamos todas juntas!

Con el hashtag #BCNMeetUpMeliaSKY2 y todos reunidos en el bonito hotel Melia Sky de Barcelona, comenzamos estas nuevas jornadas con una ponencia de marcas y bloggers. Yo fui una de las ponentes y di varios consejos y puntos de vista (que muchos de vosotros ya los conocéis por mis vídeos de youtube) sobre cómo empezar a colaborar con las marcas siendo un blogger o influencer, y lo importante que es sentirse identificado con la firma que representamos. Es importante no ‘engañar’ en estos temas porque al final no somos fieles ni a nuestros seguidores ni a nosotros mismos.

Escogí dos looks muy diferentes: uno más otoñal con falda cortita y camisa blanca mientras que el otro es más abrigado, más invernal.

El primero lo elegí porque me enamoré de los estampados de todas las faldas de esta marca que no conocía la verdad, Marola, y son faldas con goma a la cintura y hechas y tintadas a mano, por lo que no habrá dos iguales. La combiné con una camisa blanca y unas sandalias de terciopelo, que sabéis que se lleva mucho este invierno, en azul marino con plataforma.

Por otra parte el outfit más para estos días de frío frío, está formado por un abrigo de pelito negro, la misma camisa esta vez combinada con unos botines negros y unos vaqueros grises ajustados. Para dar un punto diferente me puse un top corto encima de la camisa en gris jaspeado.

Finally I can tell you more things and show you pics with the two outfits that I wore to enjoy the BCN Meet Up of this year where we meet some important top bloggers and brands in our country.

Specially I had a really fun and nice time with my girls from Trendy Taste, Mes Voyages a Paris, Hola Cuore, Necklace of Pearls, Erea Louro, A Trendy Life or Bartabac. Love you babes and hope to meet u all again soon!

With the hashtag #BCNMeetUpMeliaSKY2 and we all together in the beautiful Melia Sky Hotel in Barcelona, we started these new sessions with a presentation of brands and bloggers. I was one of the speakers and I gave tips and viewpoints (which many of you have already watched on my YouTube channel) about how to start collaborating with brands being a blogger or influencer, and how important it is to feel identified with the firm we represent or we are wearing. It is important not to ‘lye’ on these things guys because we are not faithful to our followers and also to or ourselves in the end.

I chose two very different looks: a more autumnal with a mini skirt and white shirt while the other option is more warm, more winter kind of.

The first one I chose it because I fell in love with the print of all the skirts of this new brand to me, I did not know it before, Marola, and they all are rubber skirts at the waist and hand made, so you will never find the same one. I combined it with a white shirt crop style and velvet sandals, that you know that is a top trend for this winter, in navy blue and with platform.

The other outfit it’s perfect for these cold cold days and it consists on a black fur coat, the same shirt this time combined with black booties and skinny gray jeans. To give a different touch I put on a short top in heather gray over the shirt.
