Dubai: Burj Khalifa

No se vosotros pero yo soy de las que prefiere dejar lo mejor para el final… por eso he dejado este post para hoy, último día de la semana, que es mi post favorito desde que llegué a Dubai.

Como muchos sabéis por mis redes sociales el martes fuimos a descubrir el edificio más alto del mundo (al final os he dejado una foto del Guinness World Records): el Burj Khalifa. Está situado en el centro de Dubai y conecta directamente con varias de sus zonas más importantes como el centro comercial más grande en el que yo haya estado hasta ahora, Dubai Mall, o el mercado típico de la cuidad, el zoco o Souk.

Según el tipo de entradas que saquéis se puede subir hasta la planta 124 o hasta la 148. Personalmente os recomiendo que subáis hasta la 124 que es a la que yo subí porque desde la 148 me han comentado que las vistas son buenas claro pero se ve todo bastante peor al estar tan alto. También os recomiendo ir a la hora que yo fui, sobre las 17h de la tarde, porque como veis tenéis tiempo de hacer fotos con luz de día pero también de ver el atardecer, es espectáculo de la Fontana y luego de contemplar toda la cuidad de noche llena de luces. Es una de las experiencias más bonitas que he vivido en lo que a turismo se refiere.

Al estar al aire libre a tanta altura opté por ponerme un vestido largo de lana fina de canalé con detalles de leopardo: cinturón vintage y mis slippers favoritas. Mi inseparable bolso y un reloj marrón de piel fueron mis accesorios.

Y parece que ha pasado la tormenta de arena por fin… así que hoy si que si nos vamos al desierto. Os iré contando todo cuando pueda.

I know about you but am one who prefers to leave the best for last … why I left this post for today, the last day of the week, which is my favorite post since I arrived in Dubai.

As many of you know about my social networks on Tuesday we went to discover the tallest building in the world (at the end I have left a photo of Guinness World Records): the Burj Khalifa. It is located in the center of Dubai and connects directly with several of its most important areas as the largest mall in which I have been so far, Dubai Mall, and the typical market of the city, the souk or Souk.

Depending on the type of entries that you can climb to carry forth the plant or 124 to 148. Personally I recommend you go up to 124 which is where I got that from the 148 I have commented that the views are clear but looks good all much worse being so high. I also recommend going when I went, about 17h in the afternoon, because as you see you have time to take pictures in daylight but also to watch the sunset, it’s show of Fontana and then see the whole city of night full of lights. It is one of the most beautiful experiences I have lived as far as tourism is concerned.

As the visit was outdoors and the floor was so high I decided to wear my new maxi dress in wool and beige color, I love it! I combined it with leopard accents: a vintage belt and my fav leo slippers. My beloved sack style shoulder bag and a leather brown watch were my accessories.

And it seems that the terrible sad storm that we lived yesterday has finally passed… so we are going to the dessert today. I will be telling you everything whenever I can.

Doha: Souk and Islamic Museum

¡Buenos días desde Dubai de nuevo!

Este es el último post donde os cuento qué más sitios visitamos en Doha.

Uno de los lugares que más me gustó a mi personalmente es el zoco. Siempre que tengo ocasión cuando voy de viaje a este tipo de países me meto en ellos para conocer más de cerca su cultura, sus costumbres y sobre todo a su gente. En las primeras fotos y vídeo veis el Soul de Doha, muy tradicional con puestos de todo tipo: se venden desde alfombras y productos para el hogar hasta animales vivos de lo más variados (reconozco que las anguilas son las que más asco me dieron haha).

Algo que me ha sorprendido gratamente desde que llegué a Doha y ahora también en Dubai es que aunque hay bastante seguridad en el país nadie hace nada ‘malo’. Aquí no te roban o te intentan engañar al verte cara de turista. Esto es algo que me gusta mucho porque así puedes pasear y conocer las ciudades libremente sin tener que estar pendiente de si te robarán algo o no. En el zoco pro ejemplo los vigilantes van montados a caballo como veis en las fotos, algo muy típico en estos países.

De nuevo volví a elegir ropa cómoda que me cubriese los brazos pero que tampoco me hiciese morirme de calor. Este tipo de jerseys de estilo colegial sabéis que están en plena tendencia y yo he escogido este perforado en color blanco con detalles en azul marino como complemento indispensable para mi primavera. Llevo jeans ajustados y mis bailarinas bicolor que son la mejor opción para las largas caminatas de estos días. Mi bolso tipo saco (ya se que no me lo quito), y mis gafas de sol.

Me voy a seguir conociendo Dubai, ¡muchos besos!

Morning again from Dubai!

This is the last post about what we did and visited in Doha.

One of the places that I liked most to visit was the souk. Whenever I have time when traveling around these countries I came to these areas, these amazing city markets where I can really learn more about their culture, customs and especially its people. In the first photos and video you can see the Souq of Doha, very traditional with stalls of all kinds: the sell from carpets and household products to live animals of any variety and kind (I recognize that eels were the most disgusting for me to see haha) .

Something that has pleasantly surprised me since I arrived in Doha and now in Dubai is that although there is enough security in the cities nobody does anything ‘bad’. Here they do not steal or try to fool the tourist just seeing you face. This is something that I like so much because you can walk and discover the cities feeling free and without having to be aware of if someone is going to steal something or not. In the pics you can see that inside the souk the security go in horses, very typical in these countries.

I chose once again a comfortable clothes that covered my arms but avoid me to die of the hard heat. This kind of college style jerseys you know that are very trendy and I have chosen this one in white with navy blue details as an indispensable complement on my wardrobe for my spring. I’m wearing a pair of skinny jeans and my color blocked flats which are the best choice for all those long walks these days. My shoulder bag of this trip (I know that I’m wearing it daily but I really love it!), and my sunnies for the day.

I’m leaving the hotel to keep on discovering this also amazing city: Dubai. Kisses!

Doha, day 1

¡Buenos días desde DOHA!

Por fin tenéis el primer post desde aquí, y me ha costado la verdad, porque desde que hemos llegado no hemos parado, ¡me encanta esta ciudad! Es tan diferente a todo lo que conocemos en Europa… Tanto la gente, como la cultura, la comida, la forma de organizar sus días… hasta los días de trabajo son diferentes porque ellos trabajan los fines de semana.

Bueno, después del pequeño problemilla técnico que tuvimos en el aeropuerto y que nos hizo perder el vuelo y coger el siguiente, finalmente conseguimos llegar a Doha a nuestro Hotel, Hilton Doha, pasada la medianoche. Nos habían reservado una de las mejores habitaciones del hotel en la planta 18, donde podéis ver las vistas en el vídeo, ¡impresionantes!

El Hotel desde luego cuenta con unas instalaciones de lujo con dos piscinas, playa privada, varias terrazas para comer o cenar al aire libre en frente del mar, su nuevo y recién inaugurado lounge ‘Blanco’, centro de belleza y masaje, etc. Desde luego la calidad de todos los servicios os aseguro que ha sido la mejor.

La noche del sábado tuvimos una cena de bienvenida en el nuevo Blanco lounge para probar comida típica de aquí y mirad cómo nos pusimos hehe. En un ambiente idílico para una noche de verano con cómodos sofás de piel blancos, luces de ambiente, comida muy elaborada y deliciosos cocktails, pasamos esta alegre velada con el equipo de marketing y comunicación del hotel así como con amigos nuestros que viven en esta ciudad.

Yo llevo vestido de BDBA de seda fino con estampado étnico en tonos beige y tierra que me encantó desde que lo vi. De hecho me gusta tanto el print que tengo también un top de tirantes y mini falda a juego. Encima llevo una chaqueta de pedrería con cremalleras doradas en tonos verde agua. Como calzado opté esta vez por ponerme mis tacones en color nude para no destacar mucho sobre el resto del outfit y dar todo el protagonismo al vestido.

Bueno, y esto es todo por hoy. Mañana nuevo post donde os sigo contando los mejores lugares para visitar en Doha.

Y por supuesto no quiero terminar el post sin darle las gracias a Celine, Amina y Lamees por su amabilidad y ayuda, ¡sois las mejores chicas!

Morning from Doha!

Finally you have the first post in Doha and it has not been an easy work that’s the truth because since we’ve arrived we literally have not stopped, but I love this city so much! It’s so different from anything we know in Europe… Both people, such as culture, food, how they organize their days… even the working days are different because they work on our weekends.

Well, after small technical problems we had at Madrid airport and we lose our flight and had to catch the next one, we finally reached or Hotel in Doha, Hilton Doha, past midnight. They had booked one of the best rooms on the 18th floor, where you can see the amazing views in the video, awesome!

The hotel certainly has luxury installations with two swimming pools, a private beach, more than two terraces for lunch or dinner outdoors just in front of the sea, and they have recently opened its new lounge called ‘Blanco’, beauty and massage center, etc. Of course the quality of all services I do admit that it was the best.

On Saturday night we had a welcome dinner at the new Blanco lounge to try typical food from here and see what we got hehe. In an idyllic landscape just in front of the sea with all the Doha skyline at the bottom, we spent a summer evening in white leather sofas, ambient lighting, elaborated food and delicious cocktails, … We really had an amazing evening spent with the team of marketing and communication of the hotel as well as with some friends of ours who live in this city.

I was wearing a silk dress with ethnic print in beige and earth tones that I loved since I saw it for the first time. I actually liked so much that print that I have a tank top and matching a mini skirt. Above I was wearing a jacket from the same brand with gold zippers rhinestones in shades and in green water colours. As shoes this time I decided to wear my heels in nude color to give all the attention to the dress and not to the heels.

And this is all for today! Tomorrow you will have a new post where I will continue telling and showing you everything about the best places to go and visit in Doha.

Sintra, charmed village

Tercer y último video post donde os cuento más historias de mi divertido viaje a Lisboa… esta vez fuimos a visitar Sintra, ¡no he conocido un lugar así en mi vida!

Me habían avisado de que tanto el Castillo da Pena como los jardines de alrededor eran impresionantemente bonitos pero nunca me imaginé que me iba a sorprender tanto. Desde el primer momento en que llegamos a Sintra y comenzamos a subir en coche esta carretera que veis en las fotos y vídeo atravesando este frondoso bosque y en pleno contacto con la naturaleza me di cuenta de por qué se habían grabado aquí tantas películas… ¡parecía sacado de un cuento!

Y evidentemente me sorprendió aún más llegar hasta el famoso Castillo da Pena después de una subida cuesta arriba de 15 minutos caminando y encontrarme este castillo medieval pintado de mil colores y con tejas de diferentes dibujos, ¡¿bonito o no?! Os prometo que al menos yo no había visto un castillo así, ni si quiera el de Disney de DisneyLand París hahaha. Después de la visita por sus habitaciones y pasillos que podéis ver en el vídeo llegó la hora de seguir descubriendo la magia de esta zona: los jardines inmensos. No creo que nos diese tiempo de visitar ni si quiera una tercera parte pero desde luego como podéis ver lo que vi fue alucinante. Ríos, árboles y plantas de todo tipo porque el rey que vivía allí mandó que trajesen semillas de todos los países y continentes, puentes de piedra, cisnes blancos… ¡y negros!… en fin, de verdad que para mi fue una excursión de cuento.

Para este tipo de excursión escogí unos leggings de cuero negros, unas zapatillas de bota con estampado de leopardo, una sudadera y una trenca verde para el frío.

Third and last video post on my blog with more stories from my funny trip to Lisbon last weekend… this time talk to you about Sintra, I really have not been in such a charmed place like this before!

Although they had told me about how beautiful it was Pena’s Castle and all the surrounding gardens I just never imagined it was going to surprise me so much. From the first moment that we arrived to Sintra, a small village next to Lisboa (like 20 minutes driving) we were exhausted. We began to climb up driving through this road that you can see in the photos and video through this lush forest and in full contact with nature, at that moment I realized why it had been the scenery for many important movies… it really seems like you are in a fairy tale!

And obviously what surprised me even more was to reach to the top of the famous Pena’s Castle after a walk of 15 minutes climbing and find this medieval castle painted in a thousand colors and tiles of different drawings! Doesn’t it amazing?! I promise you that I had not seen a castle like this before, not even the Disney Castle from DisneyLand Paris hahaha. After the tour inside it, visiting the rooms and corridors which you can see in the video it was time to continue discovering the magic of this area: the immense gardens. I do not think we had time to visit even a third part of them but certainly as you can see below everything what we saw was amazing. Rivers, trees and plants of all kinds because the king who lived there commanded to bring seeds from all countries and continents, stone bridges, white and even black swans!… Well, really to me it was a perfect day in a wonderful place.

For this kind of day I chose a black leather leggings, my bootie slippers with leopard print, a white sweatshirt and a green trench coat for the cold moments.

Discovering Patones

Como muchos ya sabréis este fin de semana he descubierto uno de los pueblos con mayor encanto de España. Se llama Patones de Arriba y está a unos 50km de Madrid. Al estar tan ‘escondido’ en la montaña pudo librarse de la invasión francesa e incluso contar con su propio rey en tiempos de Carlos III. Las calles son empinadas cuestas con casas construidas exclusivamente con piedras y ladrillos donde la hiedra y las plantas enredaderas decoran la mayoría de las fachadas. Pareciese que en este pueblo no han pasado los años, el tiempo se ha detenido, si no fuese por la gran afluencia de turistas que cada fin de semana lo visitan para descubrir cada rincón lleno de historia.

Nos alojamos en El Tiempo Perdido que es un hotel con mucho encanto en el centro del pueblo (creo que deber haber sólo 2 o 3 hoteles). Tan sólo tiene unas 8 habitaciones y por dentro como podéis ver tiene la mejor decoración acorde con el siglo XVIII.

Para un fin de semana de relax y contacto con la naturaleza escogí unos jeans ajustados, una camisa azul celeste con maxi bolsillos a los lados, un foulard con estampado étnico y mis sneakers blancas. Encima llevo una gabardina rosa palo y un maxi bolso también de estampado étnico. Como siempre inseparable de mi pen camera para poder mostraros todas estas fotos y vídeos de cada uno de mis viajes.

As many of you already know this weekend I discovered one of the most charming towns in Spain. It’s called Patones de Arriba and is approximately 50km away from Madrid. Being so ‘hidden’ in the mountains they avoid the French invasion and even they had their own king in times of your majesty Carlos III. The streets are steep slopes with houses built entirely with stones and bricks where ivy and creepers plants decorate most of the walls. It seems that in this town have not pass the years, time has stopped, if it was not for the amount of tourists that every weekend visit it to discover every corner full of history. To me it is completely a must visit place.

We stayed at El Tiempo Perdido Hotel which is a charming hotel in the center of this small town (I think that there are only 2 or 3 hotels). It has only 8 rooms and inside as you can see has the best deco looking like eighteenth century style, in every room and hall of the hotel.

For a weekend of relax and contact with nature I chose some slim fit jeans, a light blue shirt with maxi pockets on the sides, a scarf with ethnic print and my white sneakers. Over I was wearing a soft pink trench and a maxi bag also with ethnic print. As always I was carrying my inseparable pen camera to show you all these pictures and videos of each trip I do.
