LA Diary, #001

Vale vale, pero tengo una pregunta para ti: ¿qué es lo que te hace realmente feliz? Y no me refiero a ir por la vida medio feliz. No. Me refiero a qué te provoca esa sonrisa enorme en tu cara, qué te hace sentir mariposas en el estómago, qué te hace vivir en una nube, qué te hace levantarte cada mañana con ganas de comerte el mundo, qué hace que nunca pierdas la toalla, que nunca te rindas. Eso, sea una persona, un animal, una cosa, un momento… es lo que tienes que perseguir y visualizar a diario Marta.

Esta pregunta me la hago muchos días cuando me levanto en un ‘mood’ menos ‘happy’ de lo normal. Y a mí me funciona. Ayer mismo me la recordaba uno de mis mejores amigos al que tantas veces se la he repetido yo.

A mí me hace feliz estar con mi familia; no hace falta que estemos hablando todo el rato, simplemente estar a su lado. Me hace feliz salir con mis amigos, hacer el tonto con ellos, cantar, gritar, no tener vergüenza de nada. Me hace inmensamente feliz ver el atardecer tirada en una playa con los pies descalzos, simplemente observando el sol esconderse y las olas ir y venir. Dar las gracias por un día más disfrutando de esta vida. Me hace feliz ver felices a otros, sobre todo a gente que se lo merece, y me da ‘envidia sana’ ver cómo millones de personas en el mundo son felices con muy poco. Me hace feliz estos días pasear por el pier de Santa Monica y de Venice Beach, mis lugares favoritos de LA. Me hace feliz disfrutar de mí misma, sola, que no tiene nada que ver con que me guste la soledad; es ser inteligente emocionalmente y aprender a vivir feliz y bien primero con uno mismo antes de dejar entrar a nadie más. Me hace feliz mi trabajo; es más, me encanta mi trabajo aunque trabaje 24/7 pero doy gracias por poder trabajar en lo que más me gusta del mundo y por teneros a todos vosotros a mi lado. Me hace feliz ver a dos personas que se quieren, sean del sexo que sean, sin amor no podría vivir, no podría ser yo del todo.

Os dejo con este ¡popurrí’ de fotos de mis primeros días en LA chicos. Y os invito a que os hagáis esta pregunta a vosotros mismos sobre todo los días que estés más ‘de bajón’ porque es una buena forma de saber lo que os hace felices en la vida y de perseguir vuestros sueños.

Okay, okay, but I have a question for you: what really makes you happy? And I don’t mean being half happy. No. I mean what causes you that huge smile on your face, what makes you feel butterflies in the stomach, what makes you live in a cloud, what makes you wake up every morning wanting to do your best and show it to the world, what makes you never give up. That, a person, an animal, a thing, a moment,… is what you have to focus on and visualize every day Marta.

I use to ask this question to myself many days when I get up in a mood less happy than normal. And it works for me. Yesterday it remembered me one of my best friends whom I have repeated it so many times.

It makes me happy to be with my family; we do not have to be talking all the time, just being there together. It makes me happy to go out with my friends, play, dance, sing, scream, and go crazy with them, not being ashamed of anything. It makes me immensely happy to see the sunset lying on a beach bare feet, just watching the sun going down and the waves come and go. I’m thankful for one more day enjoying this life. It makes me happy to see others happy, especially people who deserve it, and it gives me ‘healthy envy’ to see how millions of people in the world are happy with very little. It makes me happy these days to stroll along the pier of Santa Monica and Venice Beach, my favorite places in LA. It makes me happy to enjoy myself, alone, that has nothing to do with solitude; it is just to be emotionally intelligent and learn to live happily and well first with oneself before letting anyone else in. It makes me so happy my job, I don’t care if I have to work 24/7 but I’m thankful for working on what I like the most in the world and for having you all by my side. It makes me happy to see two people loving each other, whatever sex they are, without love I could not live, I could not be me at all.

I leave you now with this mix of photos of my first days in LA guys. And I invite you to ask this question to yourselves especially on the days that you are more down because it is a good way to know what makes you happy in life and to pursue your dreams.

My CKJ Diary: sporty dress

¡Buenos días!

Ya puedo contaros tanto misterio acerca del proyecto tan especial en el que trabajamos el jueves pasado… Y es que me encanta poder enseñaros por fin el resultado de una serie de posts o ‘Diaries‘ que iré publicando a lo largo de las tres próximas semanas para mostraros las prendas que más me gustan de la colección de Calvin Klein Jeans para el próximo invierno.

He escogido como primer look este vestido estilo de deportivo. Es por encima de la rodilla, con media manga, bolsillos delanteros y lleva cuello oversize ancho con cordones para dar un punto más casual. Como calzado escogió mis botas negras con cadenas plateadas que claramente aportan el toque más motero y luego llevo una mochila negra y unas gafas de sol también negras. Ya sabéis que cada vez soy más fan de salir a la calle cuanto más cómoda mejor, pues con este vestido, unas botas o deportivas y una mochila o bolso básico negro podéis conseguir un estilismo de lo más moderno y trendy sin mucho esfuerzo.

Una vez más me puse en manos de Anabel para el maquillaje y peinado y este trabajazo de fotos y producción no hubiese sido posible sin Valentín y Carmen. ¡Gracias por todo chicos!

Morning guys!

Finally I can tell you all the mystery about that special project you know that we have been working on from last Thursday… And I really like to be able to show you the final result of a serie of posts or ‘Diaries’ that I will publishing over the next three weeks to show you the clothes that I like most from Calvin Klein Jeans collection for next autumn/winter.

I have chosen for the first look this sporty kinda dress. It is above the knee, with half sleeve, front pockets and wide oversize neck with laces for a more casual touch. As shoes I chose my black booties with silver chains that clearly brought the biker trend to the look and then I took a black backpack and also my fav pair of black leather sunnies. You know that every day I’m becoming more and more fan of dressing up as comfy as possible, I think that’s the best thing to be yourself and to get the best street style. So with a basic casual dress like this, some boots or sneakers and a black backpack or shoulder bag you can get a simple styling but so modern and trendy without much effort.

Once again I chose my dear Anabel for my makeup and hairstyle and this amazing pics and videos and production would not have been possible without Valentin and Carmen. Thanks for everything guys!

Easy does it

Siento haber tardado en publicar el post de hoy pero aquí en Lisboa ¡no paro!

La verdad es que me estoy volviendo adicta al estilo americano, y más concretamente de Los Ángeles (que son las firmas que llevo en los looks de hoy), de cuanto más sencilla mejor.

Así que hoy os dejo estos 3 looks donde llevo dos de las marcas de allí que más me gustan: Anine Bing y Ragdoll LA. Ya me habéis visto muchas cosas de ellos en otros posts porque como os digo para mi son las mejores firmas de básicos.

Empezando por orden creo que el primero es el que más va con mi estilo: jeans ajustados con camiseta rosa palo de cuello cerrado y sin mangas. Como calzado mis comodísimas bailarinas que me compro siempre en Londres cuando se me rompen del uso.

El segundo estilismo es el más sexy por decirlo de alguna manera con el mono negro con detalles lenceros y un jersey de lana gris por encima para restarle elegancia al outfit. Esta es una técnica muy buena para cuando queremos quitar importancia a algo que llevamos más arreglado.

El tercero es el más deportivo y casual y también es una opción muy socorrida para mi día a día. Llevo camiseta con estampado de leopardo en gris y negra, me encanta desde que la vi por primera vez. Debajo de nuevo jeans negros ajustados, unas sneakers y maxi gafas de sol.

I’m so sorry for the delay posting today’s post but here in Lisbon it’s like not stop all day!

The truth is that I’m getting addicted to American style, specifically to Los Angeles style (from where are the brands that I use to wear daily and I show you in today’s pics). The always do the same: the simpler the better.

So today I show these 3 looks wearing two of my favourite brands from there: Anine Bing and Ragdoll LA. You’ve already seen me many times wearing them in other posts because as I said to me these are the top brands in basics.

Let’s stat with the first order which is the most similar to my personal style: skinny black jeans with a soft pink shirt with closed neck and sleeveless. I’m also wearing my super comfy flat shoes that I always use to buy in London when they are old.

The second outfit is the hottest styling for the black playsuit with lingerie details on the edges and over I’m wearing a gray wool sweater to rest elegance to the outfit. This is a very good option that they always use to do when they want to go more well dressed but with that casual or comfy touch.

The third look is the more sporty and casual and is also a very good option for my day. I’m wearing a leopard print shirt in gray and black, I love it since I saw it for the first time. Once again I’m wearing my black ripped jeans, my Stan Smith sneakers and my black leather maxi sunnies.

Top of the Rock

¡En la cima de Nueva York! Estas son las vistas que se pueden disfrutar desde el ya mítico ‘Top of the Rock‘ que está situado en la última planta del edificio Rockefeller Center de Manhattan, por supuesto es una visita obligatoria (la entrada cuesta unos 20$ aproximadamente).

A un lado se puede disfrutar las fabulosas vistas del parque más conocido de la ciudad, Central Park en esta ocasión completamente nevado, mientras que el lado Oeste está presidido por el emblemático edificio Empire State. Tuve que quedarme varias horas después de tomar todas estas fotos en el atardecer a contemplar estas vistas porque hacía tiempo que no disfrutaba de algo tan bonito…

El edificio da justo a la plaza que recibe su nombre por el mismo, plaza de Rockefeller Center, que como os dije en mis redes sociales para mi es la “plaza del mundo” porque están hondeando las banderas de todos los países alrededor de una bonita pista de hielo. Al lado el edificio de Radio City donde se graban los programas más conocidos de la ciudad.

Por supuesto para superar otro día de temperaturas bajo cero escogí un gorro de ante forrado de pelo, un abrigo oscuro con estampado de leopardo, unos vaqueros con una camisa vaquera y una chaqueta de lana verde caqui y mis botas negras con calcetín de lana debajo por supuesto. El bolso bicolor es una de mis adquisiciones de allí, ¿os gusta?

On top of New York! These are the amazing views that you can enjoy from the mythical ‘Top of the Rock’ which is situated on the top floor of Rockefeller Center building in the middle of Manhattan, of course it is a must go place (entrance costs around $20).

On one side you can enjoy the fabulous views of the most famous park at the city, Central Park completely snowed on this occasion, while the west side is dominated by the iconic Empire State Building. I do admit that when we finished the soothing I had to stay some time after just looking at all this cool skyline and overview of the city, had a long time since I didn’t enjoye something so beautiful…

The building is located onto the square named for it, Rockefeller Center Square, which as I said on my social networks to me is the “square of the world” because they are all the flags of all the countries around the world, nice picture. Beside the building of Radio City where the most famous radio programs are recorded.

Of course to overcome another day of subzero temperatures I chose a hat with wrapped hair, a dark coat with leopard print, jeans with a denim shirt and a wool jacket in khaki green and my black booties with wool socks underneath of course. The color blocked bag is one of my last purchases from there, do you like it?

L.A. mood

Para huir por una vez del estilo tan “sota, caballo y rey” europeo en este shooting tan especial de la mano de mi maravillosa fotógrafa Mara, decidí inspirarme en un estilo más americano. En concreto he escogido firmas de Los Ángeles que ahora mismo están en plena tendencia con este look casual para un día más desarreglado.

El outfit se compone de una camiseta básica con mensaje corto ‘Meow’, shorts de cuero negros con goma en la cintura tipo chandal y zapatillas negras con glitter y plataforma. Los detalles también son importantes y en esta ocasión he escogido unos muy especiales: anillos también con mensaje en italiano “va fan culo” y sortija de labios. Reloj negro y blanco a juego con los colores del look. Bolso de metacrilato transparente para aportar el toque más moderno y minimalista al estilismo.

¿Qué os parece esta opción para un día cómodo traída directamente desde L.A.?

To escape just for one day from the “typical” European outfits I opted for this special shooting with my wonderful photographer Mara, to be inspired by the American style. In particular I’ve chosen L.A. brands which right now are on top and they are very trendy, as you can see in this casual look.

The outfit is based on a basic tee with short message ‘Meow’, a black leather shorts with the waist type rubber tracksuit kinda shorts and black sneakers with glitter and platform. Today details are more important than other days because this time I’ve selected some very special designs: rings also with short italian message “va fan culo” and lips ring. A black and white watch matching the colors of the look. A methacrylate clutch providing the most modern and minimalistic touch to the styling.

Swamp days

Ya que no he podido irme de puente esta vez, he aprovechado para hacer una escapadita a un pantano muy cerca de Madrid. La verdad es que me aporta mucha energía pasar unos días alejada del ajetreo y nonstop de la ciudad y venir a respirar aire puro sin contaminación.

En este outfit mezclo banderas (uk & usa flags). Llevo camiseta de Dear Tee con la cara de Kate Moss, jeans de Zara, chaqueta azul marino de Zara Man y mis All Star con estampado de bandera de EEUU.

Estos sí que son ¡los mejores perritos del mundo! <3

¿No es impresionante el contraste del color del cielo con el verde de la hierba y de los árboles?

¡Buenos días!

El look que os enseño hoy es de los que más me gusta del verano, porque es un estilo muy sencillo y a la vez llamativo. Los shorts (Bershka) le dan un toque muy informal al outfit mientras que el protagonismo se lo lleva la camiseta con la bandera de EEUU (Pull&Bear) con fondo negro para la noche. Lo combiné con mis cómodos zuecos de Pimkie para poder bailar toda la noche.
